Practical Nursing Opportunities
Licensed Practical Nurses make a valuable difference in the lives of Islanders by providing care to patients in our hospitals and comfort to seniors in our long-term care facilities. We have opportunities for new graduate and experienced nurses in acute care, mental health and addictions, and long term care settings across the Island.
Nursing Recruitment Incentive
- A one-time financial incentive of $5,000 is available for Licensed Practical Nurses
- Permanent and Temporary HealthPEI positions are eligible when return-in-service hours can be guaranteed by the Manager
- A 3,900 working hour return-in-service (RIS) is required for LPNs with less than 24 months of experience
- A 1,950 working hour return-in-service agreement is required for LPNs with greater than 24 months of experience
Rural Incentive
- A one-time financial incentive of $5,000 is available for positions located outside of Charlottetown
- Available independently or in addition to the Nursing Recruitment Incentive
Student Loan Incentive
- A one-time financial incentive up to $8,000 is available for positions within Charlottetown
- Applicants must have a federal Canada Student Loan
- Applicants must demonstrate that they are ineligible for the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness for Family Doctors and Nurses program.
- Available independently or in addition to the Nursing Recruitment Incentive
Relocation Assistance
- Up to $10,000 in Relocation Assistance may be available at the discretion of the Health PEI Hiring Manager
- Receipt-based reimbursement for permanent hard-to-recruit positions
- Available independently or in addition to the Nursing Recruitment Incentive, Rural Incentive and Student Loan Forgiveness programs.
