Practical Nursing Opportunities
Licensed Practical Nurses deliver quality nursing care to Islanders across the system and are an invaluable member of the patient, client, and resident care team. We have opportunities for new graduate and experienced nurses in acute care, mental health and addictions, and long term care settings across the Island.
Nursing Recruitment Incentive
- A one-time financial incentive of $5,000 is available for Licensed Practical Nurses
- Permanent and Temporary HealthPEI positions are eligible when return-in-service hours can be guaranteed by the Manager
- A 3,900 working hour return-in-service (RIS) is required for LPNs with less than 24 months of experience
- A 1,950 working hour return-in-service agreement is required for LPNs with greater than 24 months of experience
Rural Incentive
- A one-time financial incentive of $5,000 is available for positions located outside of Charlottetown
- Available independently or in addition to the Nursing Recruitment Incentive
Student Loan Incentive
- A one-time financial incentive up to $8,000 is available for positions within Charlottetown
- Applicants must have a federal Canada Student Loan
- Applicants must demonstrate that they are ineligible for the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness for Family Doctors and Nurses program.
- Available independently or in addition to the Nursing Recruitment Incentive
Relocation Assistance
- Relocation assistance may be available at the discretion of the Health PEI Hiring Manager
- Receipt-based reimbursement for permanent hard-to-recruit positions
- Available independently or in addition to the Nursing Recruitment Incentive, Rural Incentive and Student Loan Forgiveness programs.
