International Nurse Graduates

If you were trained and worked as a nurse internationally, undoubtedly, you have valuable experience and knowledge to bring to a nursing career in Canada.

  1. As a first step, visit Immigration and Citizenship Canada to learn how to become eligible to work in Canada.
  2. It is important to understand all of the Canadian requirements to practice as a RN or NP. Visit the National Nursing Assessment Service (NNAS) to find out what you need to start the application process, the timeline and the costs.
  3. Once you have completed the NNAS application and received an advisory report, you may apply to the College of Registered Nurses of Prince Edward Island (CRNPEI) for registration and licensure.
  4. With CRNPEI licensing requirements met, you may apply for nursing jobs in Prince Edward Island.
